Beach Milestone and Lawn Bowling

HH and I started the day at our beach forest kindergarten class. I had doubts about this class but today was the first day HH wanted to have the ocean water touch his feet! Mission accomplished. Now, I just have to continue going so he continues to peel away his fears for the ocean. Sigh.

This evening we attended an advisory circle event for the Laguna Beach Museum of Art. It was a lawn bowling event, and after not being able to find a babysitter, we decided to take the kids along. We were probably some of the youngest, and the only people who brought kids. At any rate, after a lot of running and convincing the balls weren't for rough play (boys don't understand) we managed to roll a couple down the lawn. Justin and I had a lot of fun trying it for our first time.

Kei falling

On Max's bday last week, we had Mevheen and Kei over for cupcakes. While we were in the backyard, Kei fell down the stairs a bit, but skillfully didn't hit his head. Max points at the place where he fell and says "Kei" in a really sad voice. Now inside the house, he falls to the floor and says "Kei" also... I'm not sure how far Max is going to take this...

Tree of Life Nursery

We went to a CA native nursery with the boys this weekend, and all they were interested in were the tractors and cookies in the gift shop.

Painting

Spent the day off from work plein air painting with the boys.

Putting the boys to sleep

Last night the boys were wanting mommy to put them to bed (instead of either kid wanting daddy). So I said, "well, I want daddy to put me to bed, so Harrison you put max to bed." The two boys looked at each other and said "ok night night," walked out of the room and shut the door. So Justin and I snuck out and got the baby monitor to then watch Harrison first picking out books for Max, 3 books. Then they went to the rocking chair, and Harrison said to Max, "sit on my lap." After a bit of trial and error, max finally got onto Harrison's lap, and then Harrison couldn't see a thing in the book, so he pushed max to the side of him. He first read to him "Let's go." I went I'm and said "ok I'm going to put Max to sleep after this." "No mommy, 3 books." (Which is how we put HH to sleep)

I wish Max didn't have to be lifted into his crib because I would have wanted to see it all the way through. The boys can be so sweet together.
